Just heard about the low price shares with the company that deals with Whistler Ski Resort.

Where do I go such as website to buy some shares if i wanted to?

You can’t. Whistler Blackcomb is owned by Intrawest and as of 2006, they are no longer publicly traded.

No units and shares are not the same, although those names are sometimes (mistakenly) interchanged. A unit generally consists of more than just one share. In an IPO a unit might consist of 1 share of common stock and 2 warrants to buy common stock at a set price in the future. In a pre-IPO a unit may be sold at $10,000 and consists of 10,000 shares, each priced at $1. Generally you might describe a unit as the smallest increment in which a new issue is sold. I hope this helps.
