It’s 7 degrees warmer than that. I’m in Vancouver and I’m golfing every weekend in a T-shirt. Bring your clubs, it’s real easy to get on any course and this time of year the prices are down 25-35 %.

It’s not really a problem as it will only affect the Cypress venue. VANOC has prepared for this and has more then enough snow to cover for any problems. In addition to this most of the snow being applied to the ski-cross and boarder-cross venues has a chemical applied to it so that it will harden rather then melt in warm conditions. Aside from that Whistler couldn’t be in any better shape right now so cross-country skiing, bobsleigh, skeleton, luge, alpine skiing, and ski-jumping are problem free. The curling, figure skating, hockey, short-track and long-track speed skating events all take place indoors so there is really not too much worry.
The problem is for the freestylle skiing and snowboarding events although they have evens in warmer climates then Vancouver every year. They already had an event in Chapelco, Argentina this year and another event in Sierra Nevada, Spain is scheduled for after the Olympics. Most of these competitors are used to competing on soft snow.
