What time, EST? I know it starts on the 12th but I can only find the time in Vancouver. Also, what channel would you recommend watching it on?
Those answers advising that the Opening Ceremonies will be on CBC are mistaken. CBC is not covering the Olympics this year in Canada. CTV/Rogers SportsNet are.
In the United States the NBC family of stations will carry the games.
The Opening Ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 6pm PST so that would be 9 EST.
Ceremony starts at 9pm EST. Most coverage will begin a couple hours beforehand.
Not NBC. The feed will likely be the same on all channels but I’m sure NBC will find a way to screw it up like they do with the rest of their olympic coverage. CTV or TSN if you get them.

I live here in beautiful British Columbia and in Vancouver. As Canadians we welcome the world tomorrow, February 12th. I believe, do you?
It will star at 9:00 Eastern Time on Feb. 12th.
Channel NBC or maybe even ESPN because its a sports gathering.

CBC actually is offering full coverage of the Olympics; CTV was just chosen as the official broadcaster. I’ll be watching the CBC coverage since they are a way better station and aren’t swayed by politics like CTV is.
