The Dubai Palm Jumeirah is in the shape of a palm tree. It consists of a trunk with 17 fronds, and a surrounding crescent island that forms an 11 km long breakwater. The island is 5 km by 5 km and its amount area is larger than 700 football pitches. The Trunk is connected to the mainland by a 300 metre bridge and the crescent is connected to the top of the region by a undersea tunnel. Over the next few years, The Dubai Palm Jumeirah is touted as soon to be one of the world’s premier resorts. The Palm Island is the known as ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’.

Are there any natural threats in palm jumeirah Dubai?
I was interested to buy a 3 bedroom out there in Dubai where do you suggest? A place where money is not wasted. I will talk with consultants but they never say truth they care about their profits.

I’d be concerned long term that the sea reclaims the land. Who knows what will be required in the future to prevent this or if long term the whole thing actually survives. There are also concerns that once fully populated traffic will be a nightmare, not a natural threat but certainly a long term concern.
