Clarence McLeod is manager of the Fairmont hotel’s Gold floor, a 51-room floor that is the temporary home of celebrities, heads of state and ordinary people with money to spare.
At the Fairmont, a hotel in the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C., the Gold floor gives guests elaborate spreads in the lobby for breakfast, alon with afternoon tea and dessert on their floor. But they also get Mr. McLeod and his staff. There isn’t much that they haven’t done, from booking appointments, making last minute transportation or dinner plans, and adding the touch of family hospitality that keeps guests returning.
