I don't know that I have any great "pearls of wisdom" (no pun intended, truly) about this parable that "alexandra.", "David", "moonlightskater 24", and "arthvader" haven't already addressed. I can only imagine that Jesus is saying that Heaven is so beautiful, in a spiritual sense, that when a person finds it, they'd be so in awe of it that the rest of their life and treasures would be worthless to them except to "buy" their way into heaven, so to speak. Maybe that parable is similar to the one immediately prior to that one where Jesus speaks of "the kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in a field: which, when a man hath found, he hideth, and for the joy [...]

Try logging off and logging back on…when I have a problem with Google Chrome that usually helps me. If it doesn't work, you can just search in the google search bar "google themes" to get a theme. I'm not awesome with computers…but I'm okay…I usually figure out my solutions on my own. Lol.

One is simple past (ate) and the other is past participle (eaten).
"I ate lunch" could refer to any time in the past, even years, yes. "I have eaten lunch", on the other hand, sounds more recent. Apart from the time factor, they convey the same meaning.
When somebody asks me, "Did you eat (yet)?", I reply, "Yes, I've eaten (already)".
When somebody asks me, Have you eaten (yet)?", I reply, " Yes, I've eaten (already)".
I just prefer the past participle. It's just me.

yes, horses are faster than human on short distances, but they tire out faster over long term. I am pretty sure a horse would not last "couple days" of nonstop moving, while a human might.

Running down prey like deer or antilope was a common hunting method in primitive times. You just follow it until it gets too tired to run or fight.

besides, barbarians knew their native land much better than roman visitors.
