You can’t. Whistler Blackcomb is owned by Intrawest and as of 2006, they are no longer publicly traded.

Is Whistler Blackcomb a scary mountain to ski on?

November 9, 2010 Posted by admin

I went to Cypress’s mountain and I went on the Panorama Trail and I ended up fracturing myself. The year after that, I went skiing on the Runway which was what I like. If I go on any of the Whistler Blackcomb trails, is it scary. As you may not know, the Runway, is basically straight, no curves and no bumps, just basically a trail down to the mountain. It’s about 5 minute or less, depending on how fast you go. I’m a beginner and I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to go to Whistler Blackcomb. Do you think I should go?

Whistler Blackcomb is super. There are two mountains there, Blackcomb Mountain and Whistler Mountain. For a beginner I would stick to Blackcomb mountain. There is a nice variety of runs and a variety of easy runs, marked with a "green circle", that run from the very top of the mountain right to the very bottom, so no matter where you go you’ll have an easy way down.

Cheap Whistler-Blackcomb Lift Tickets?

October 22, 2010 Posted by admin

Where can I find the cheapest Whistler-Blackcomb lift tickets. We will be there Jan 11-15.

Discounted lift tickets can be purchased at the 7-11 store in Squamish (half-way between Vancouver and Whistler). They still are not "cheap" but are less expensive than at the Whistler ticket windows.

Snow prediction for 09/10 Whistler Blackcomb?

September 29, 2010 Posted by admin

I’m going skiing in Whistler Blackcomb in the middle of January and am keen to know what the prediction is for the general season. I’m not too sure where to look, if there even is anyway, for a general prediction of the upcoming season…

I went in 04/05 and it was horrendous, there was rain and everything.

Cheers :D

PS. Hook us up with the source so I can monitor..if it’s possible :)

Yeah Whistler does that, it’s really not possible to predict. I went last January and the week prior to my arrival they had 5 powder days in a row with sub zero F temperatures.

The week when I went it was 45-50F every day and raining every night. Guess that’s what you get for being near the ocean…

Snowforecast.com provides snowfall forecasts, but only 6 days in advance, they also post long range forecasts as well though.

Whistler vs Blackcomb?

September 11, 2010 Posted by admin

I have one day to spend skiing at Whistler-Blackcomb. Which mountain is better, and why?

Same ticket lets you ski both mountains. get in line early for the breakfast on top and have time to ski both that day. The base lift lines are the long wait, but the skiing is well worth the effort.

Does Whistler Blackcomb have mostly powder or mostly moguls?

August 12, 2010 Posted by admin

W-B has a lot of everything. As with any ski resort, after a storm, the steeper areas with more traffic will bump up quicker than those areas with less traffic. W-B has vast snow fields & bowls, extensive glades and a glacier. There is something for every taste & style.

However you decide to work the mountain, for my last run of the day I like to wind up at Horstman’s Hut at the 7th Heaven area around 2:45 – 3 pm. Enjoy a frosty adult beverage and hang with my buds until patrol kicks us out. Then ski the fields in 7th Heaven down through the trees of Bark Sandwich. Then cut skiers right to Merlin for a nice cruiser back to the condo.
