What time do the Vancouver 2010 Olympics start?

June 28, 2010 Posted by admin

What time, EST? I know it starts on the 12th but I can only find the time in Vancouver. Also, what channel would you recommend watching it on?

Those answers advising that the Opening Ceremonies will be on CBC are mistaken. CBC is not covering the Olympics this year in Canada. CTV/Rogers SportsNet are.

In the United States the NBC family of stations will carry the games.

The Opening Ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 6pm PST so that would be 9 EST.

This song is available to anyone or any institution wishes to use it to promote the 2010 Winter Games. I have written this song out of love of the games and patriotic goose bumps after announcement awarding 2010 Games to Vancouver. Thanks for viewing.

Lyrics:
Welcome to Winter Game

Welcome to our land where our hearts beat to the drums of native bands.
Mountains high, endless Sea in this glorious place well share; both you and me.

Greetings to the best on earth! Thanks for making our dreams come true.
Wishing you the best of luck! Were here to cheer for you.
Though youve come from far way were hoping youll feel at home
Wish to see you many times under skies of our dome

Welcome to Winter Games set by Peace and beauty of Olympic flames.
Give it all; your heart and mind. Make this quest a glorious time in our mankind.

What are some good things about the 2010 vancouver olympics? ?

June 8, 2010 Posted by admin

What are some good things about the 2010 vancouver olympics? Other than a increase in tourism.

"Hi"…it made us do things that needed to be done…Sky train to YVR, improvements to the Sea to Sky highway, new Ice rinks, Richmond and UBC,improvements to Cypress, new accommodation in the downtown core in the "Athlete’s Village". This has created jobs and enabled lasting amenities for the Vancouver area long after the Olympics is over.

It will bring revenue to the whole lower Mainland and Metro Vancouver area and Whistler and that’s important !

We have a lot of youth in this country (which is geared to winter ) that will compete , want to compete and are looking forward to competing !

It will show us to the World as a modern peace loving , free and beautiful country and in these troubled global times that won’t hurt a bit ! *S*

Just my personal opinion ! *S* (Michael C…)

Does anyone know who the girl was singing the Canada song during the opening ceremony Vancouver 2010 Olympics?

May 3, 2010 Posted by admin

She had on the little red dress and was singing infront of the Canadian flag during the opening ceremony in Vancouver 2010 winter olympics!

Nikki Yanofsky:

"Yanofsky has been a rising star since 2006, when she wowed a crowd of more than 100,000 at an international jazz festival in Montreal, her hometown.

She’s since performed with the likes of Celine Dion and Marvin Hamlisch, and recorded a song as part of an Ella Fitzgerald tribute album. She also recorded the song "Gotta Go My Own Way" — from "High School Musical 2" — in English and French as a bonus song on the worldwide version of the soundtrack CD and DVD.

This spring, Yanofsky will release her first studio album, "New to Me." Noted producer Phil Ramone worked with her on the album and on her recording of "I Believe.""

Is anybody there who applied for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics as volunteer?

March 8, 2010 Posted by admin

Hi everybody! I’m an Italian girl and I’m going to stay in Vancouver at least for 6 months. I’d like to fill in the application form to the 2010 Vancouver Olympics as volunteer.
Did anybody of you do the same? Do you think it is too late?
Thank you for your replies.
Ciao Ciao!

I’m not 100% sure if its too late, I know I heard on the news awhile back here in Vancouver that they had an over whelming amount of applicants for Volunteer positions. Here is the link to the volunteer positions: http://www.vancouver2010.com/en/work-and-volunteer/volunteer-opportunities/-/33922/w6niz7/index.html
