What are some examples of good sportsmanship during the vancouver 2010 olympics?

I have Physical Education homework and it’s extra credit if we get 3 or more examples. please and thank you!

Women’s skeleton – big row over the helmet worn by gold medallist Amy Williams, bronze medallist Anja Huber defends her saying she’s the right champion.

Women’s cross country skiing sprint – Slovenian Petra Majdic got up and competed despite a nasty crash in training and took bronze, turned out she had 4 broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

Men’s short track speed skating – JR Celski gets disqualified for an accidental breach of the rules, caught his skate in the ice and caused someone to crash into him and out of the race, instead of whining he just said that things didn’t go his way on the night.

Skiing and the sliding sports – competitors don’t rejoice when an opponent crashes even if it means they get a medal as they know how serious it can be.

First and third ones show the acceptance of the officials’ decisions that all people at all levels of sport should have. Second exemplifies the Olympic Creed that it’s the competing that matter, she knew she wouldn’t win but still gave it her all. Last one shows concern for the well being of other competitors over your own success.

Is there a CANADIAN Vancouver 2010 Olympics podcast I can subscribe to in iTunes?

Thanks Mawia but I can’t find a podcast there to subscribe to in iTunes. I think I saw some to listen to right there online (or maybe that was on CTV), but I want them to go.

Try the CBC.ca website – I think they might have what you are looking for.

What time do the Vancouver 2010 Olympics start?

What time, EST? I know it starts on the 12th but I can only find the time in Vancouver. Also, what channel would you recommend watching it on?

Those answers advising that the Opening Ceremonies will be on CBC are mistaken. CBC is not covering the Olympics this year in Canada. CTV/Rogers SportsNet are.

In the United States the NBC family of stations will carry the games.

The Opening Ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 6pm PST so that would be 9 EST.

What are some good things about the 2010 vancouver olympics? Other than a increase in tourism.

"Hi"…it made us do things that needed to be done…Sky train to YVR, improvements to the Sea to Sky highway, new Ice rinks, Richmond and UBC,improvements to Cypress, new accommodation in the downtown core in the "Athlete’s Village". This has created jobs and enabled lasting amenities for the Vancouver area long after the Olympics is over.

It will bring revenue to the whole lower Mainland and Metro Vancouver area and Whistler and that’s important !

We have a lot of youth in this country (which is geared to winter ) that will compete , want to compete and are looking forward to competing !

It will show us to the World as a modern peace loving , free and beautiful country and in these troubled global times that won’t hurt a bit ! *S*

I have a school project where I need to make 4 question about the legacy of the vancouver olympics, and I am having a little trouble.. any help would be appreciated and just am looking for some questions about how the olympics affected north vancouver, vancouver, whistler, british columbia, and canada. thanks.

hosting the olympics is good for a city’s economy because they bring a lot of publicity to that city. it brings investment, jobs and nontangibles like pride

She had on the little red dress and was singing infront of the Canadian flag during the opening ceremony in Vancouver 2010 winter olympics!
