Has anyone ever used the Fairmont Hotel gym/pool at the Vancouver (YVR) airport?

June 28, 2010 Posted by admin

I have heard they have a drop in for the gym and possibly a steam room that you can use after you drop your luggage and check in at the airport. Can you please give me as many details about this if you have experienced it.

I haven’t experienced this yet, but I can provide you the weblink that you would be able to look up the information about this hotel.

Is the fairmont hotel canada (100 willington, toronto, ontario) is accredited by the POEA?

June 8, 2010 Posted by admin

We are applying for a job. We really need to get some sources to know if this agency is accredited. It’s to find a job. So please help us.

The address: 100 wilington street west
Toronto, Onrario Canada.

Thanks and GOD speed..

First, Fairmont Hotels is the name of an international hotel company, not an agency for the employment of people in the hospitality industry. So unless a company is using a similar name then this would be a "hotel offer". There is no 100 Willington in Toronto however there is a 100 Wellington where the Fairmont Hotel in Toronto is located. This is a hotel, not an employment agency.

Second, you did not say whether you are applying to an online job posting or whether you received an "offer" for employment via email. If you did receive an unsolicited offer or are applying to a job offer on a free employment board then the chances are that it is fraudulent. This type of scam is very common and involves offering you a job from what appears to be a legitimate source. Once you have applied you will be requested to submit specific information and generally pay a "processing" or "application" fee to cover specific costs. That is, of course, the last you will see of your money so you will be out both the money and will have given someone personal information that can be used to perpetrate further scams.

If any of the following apply then the chances are that this is a scam:

- You received an unsolicited email offering you a job.
- There are obvious typing errors in the email (such as Willington instead of Wellington)
- The return email address is a free web site such as yahoo, hotmail, etc.
- There are links to a job posting but it is on a free job posting site, no business hiring
internationally will post only on these types of sites.
- You are guaranteed a job.
- Confidential information and/or money is required.

Things to do to check these types of "offers":

- Search the internet for the company and location. Anyone hiring internationally will have a website.
- If a website is found check it out, there have been several recent scams of this type where a phony website was created. Common problems with these type include broken links on their page(s), page links that do not work, and photos that are not consistent (such as many different hotel room styles, scenery that varies dramatically, etc.)
- If the website appears to be legitimate then look on it for job postings or contact information relating to employment. Request information through this link, never use the link in an email for one of these job offers.
- To double check the existence of a hotel you can also search for "hotels in toronto" for example. The name of the hotel, if large enough to be hiring internationally, should be on one of the hotel lists or accessible through the local tourism website.

Have u ever been to any of the Fairmont hotels or resorts? How was it?

i stayed at the Fairmont hotel in Dallas a few years back and it was excellent. the service was great. the concierge was always very helpful and had great suggestions and the cleaning service always came at just the right time. they werent like some hotels that end up cleaning your room while you are in it. it was like they knew when you would leave because you would leave your room dirty, be gone for just a little, and come back to a clean room. the rooms were very nice too. we had a normal room with 2 doubles connected to a suite. the suite had a bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a living room with sleeper sofa, and a dining area. it was overall a very nice hotel and the prices were good for what we got. i dont know how the other fairmonts are but if they are all as good as this one then i would definitely recommend it.

Iam new to seattle. I stay in fairmont olympic hotel and want to got o walmart?

April 19, 2010 Posted by admin

I know that the metro (#101) goes from 3rd avenue seneca street to rainer avenue where walamrt is located. I want to know metro timings from the 3rd avenue. Not able to find on the net. Can someone please help me finding the metro timings please. thank you

I hate to tell you this, but Seattle… doesn’t have a single Walmart. The fact is, Seattlites just don’t shop there, we use stores like Safeway or Albertsons’ or QFC or Costco, which is basically Walmart but you buy more stuff in bulk. I think there’s a Walmart in Mill Creek but that’s way out in the suburbs, kind of hard to get to.

Best Restaurant near Fairmont Vancouver Hotel?

April 5, 2010 Posted by admin

Any ideas? I’ve been eating at Le Crocodile, CinCin, and Shabusan for the last few months, but would like to change things up the next time I’m in town. A restaurant within walking distance from the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel would be the best. French, Italian, and Asian food are my favourite, but I’m open to new things!

Tropika on Robson Street is nice for Asian food. It’s upstairs across from the Body Shop, I believe. In the Sutton Hotel, they have a chocolate buffet on certain nights of the week. It has a wonderful selection of dessert. If you are looking for a ultra-hip place, but food is so so, a new place in town is called Sanafir, on the 1000 block of Granville Street. Its food is fusion, kind of a bit of everything. It has beds you can dine on. There is also Spotted Prawn, I think it’s on Pender, west of Burrad. It has delicious Italian food and a selection of steak and seafood.

Is there public parking in San Francisco that is near the Fairmont Hotel and Golden Gate Park?

March 8, 2010 Posted by admin

Well, yes, but using public transit would be by far the best way to visit either or both of these destinations. The MUNI system has frequent bus, cable car, and light rail service throughout the citywith connections available to all parts of the bay area via BART regional rail and the many other transit providers. Transit in the San Francisco area is safe, clean and cost effective and avoids the highly congested streets & freeways. Good Luck!

Fairmont Hotels gets my vote for customer service

I stay too many nights at hotels. And I know what it’s like to feel anonymous. But Fairmont Hotels delighted me tonight when, out of the blue, they upgraded me to the Prime Minister’s Suite. Now they’ve got a customer for life.
